Last week we talked about the joys of kitchen dancing.
What’s a kitchen dancer to do when heart-thumping, soul-stirring joy strikes at church? This is my weekly conundrum.
I try my best to contain myself. Really, truly. But what’s a girl to do when exuberance swells through the praise of hundreds of souls united in song? The whole rest of me gets jealous of my voicebox. How can anybody stay still while singing this Getty tune of God-glorification?
Come, see the cross where love and mercy meet,
As the Son of God is stricken;
Then see His foes lie crushed beneath His feet,
For the Conqueror has risen!
And as the stone is rolled away,
And Christ emerges from the grave,
This vict’ry march continues till the day
Ev’ry eye and heart shall see Him.
Oh, I so want to bust out in a cart wheel.
That might be a teensie distracting to the rest of the congregation, so I refrain. What’s left? Tears.
My joy has no place to go but through my tear ducts. Overwhelmed by God’s gracious provision, my voice cracks and I warble while I weep. God knows my tears are cartwheels in disguise.
The cartwheels and dancing shoes will keep until I’m home. While we’re on the subject, I ramped up our drawing for a kitchen-dancing-scripture-CD with a cutesie-tootsie apron to liven up all of the winner’s swirling & twirling! Today’s winner is: Jessica Frohlich!!! (I promise that was totally random and fair, too! Honest!)
Adding to that bit of happiness… I still have 6 CD’s to give away, and I’ll be adding a sweet ”add joy to your homemaking” surprise with each one! Better still, if you enter right now you will be entered for all 6 weeks. Yup – 6 chances for 1 entry. You can enter any time until the last CD is given away, but by entering early you are more likely to win. (If you entered last week you’re entered for the 6 remaining CDs.)
How do you enter? Just leave me a comment mentioning “Seeds Music Drawing” here or on the Plenty Place Facebook page. You’ll need to check back weekly so I can get your mailing information if you win.
These giveaways are going to give us lots of opportunities for finding joy & contentment in the otherwise mundane stuff of life. I hope you’ll join me for the journey (and possibly a cha-cha or two).
